  1. This is amazing. Did you draw / paint it? what using? I love it. Anyone from the corvid family is a friend of mine. So much character you've caught in that face.

  2. I'm glad you like it -- I'm very proud of it, and I still can't quite believe I did it.

It's washable blue black ink -- using a pen and a fat brush and a thin brush. The yellow bits are bleach on a sharp stick and a pen.

I'm taking an art class, and this was one of my projects. It's from a photo.

I picked it because my grandmother's name for my grandfather was 'Cor', short for Corbeau (French for crow). Her family crest is a chough, so I've got some crow connections, too.

  3. It's beautiful. I love the eye--like a photograph. Wonderful!

  4. Thanks for all the kind comments!

Hillgrandmom -- I left the eye blank for ages because it seemed such a challenge! The teacher told me at the end of one class that I should try it the next week once I'd spent some time getting warmed up.

Jennifer -- that's a huge compliment! (I'm a big fan of Jennifer's glorious project to draw every mammal there is over at The Daily Mammal).

  5. Oh boy! You've just inspired me to bring out the paint brushes. (and also intimidated me!)

  6. Rashmi -- I feel kind of intimidated by it, too -- I don't think I'd be able to do it again in a million years! Shows what the support of a great teacher can do...
